The low end of any mix requires a lot of energy. Roughly 80% of the total mix energy generally comes from the low end, even more so when you have bass and kick up higher in your mix. Because of this, bassists and drummers need a monitor with good low end headroom. It’s also nice to have a top end without too much brightness or the snare and cymbals can be overwhelming.
